Brief History

Arrived in Germany with his mother June 1941.

Conscripted into the Luftwaffe 10 October 1941 and stationed for training in Katowice.

September 1942 when he was transferred to a Signals Unit in Romania carrying out medical duties.

Transferred to Norway

Was present in Auschwitz November 1942 - Middle 1943.

Present in Bergen-Belsen December/January

February 1945 sent to Norstawitz as an infantryman (according to his statement).

20 April 1945 he was made captive by the Americans at Schwerin and sent, unguarded to the rear.

Arrived in Celle around 26 April 1945.

28 April he was sent, along with about 40 Doctors and 40 medical orderlies to Bergen-Belsen.

Approx 3 weeks later he was arrested by British Troops.

17 September 1945. Stands trial at the 'Trial of Josef Kramer and Forty Four others' at 30 Lindenstraße, Lüneburg. Charged with Count 1 and Count 2

17 November 1945. Sentenced to 15 Years Imprisonment.

Sentence suspended 13 September 1950

Released 03 September 1950.
