Children are taught to write in the school which opened in the camp after liberation. The children, who came from Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary, are taught by Irene Mandel, a Czech school teacher who was interned in the camp. Miss Mandel spoke five languages, but taught in German, the only language all the children understood.(IWM Caption)
